We're organizing our travel gear to depart in the early hours of afternoon. Nothing but the quintessential--if we don't need it in the next year, it stays. Clothes take up the most room and then we've both packed recreational goods. My extras consist of necessities for writing--laptop, charger and a copy of Strunk and White.
Tents and sleeping bags will occupy the top of the bed and be moved to the front seat on the nights we're forced to sleep inside the vehicle. We've planned for the next four nights and have a loose outline of the entire trip--camping, visiting friends, hiking, seeing the country, living minimally. To many, our plan seems unbound and unorganized. Well, it is... But that's the whole point.
